HEAD CHEF

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to help grow our kitchen. The menu centres around vegetarian & plant-based sharing plates, delivering a casual communal dining experience. With lunch & dinner Monday to Saturday & Sunday roast services. Open 7 days a week. With ad hoc catering also required.

We love using produce from local market garden suppliers and demand produce farmed responsibly across our menu, which changes throughout the year with the seasons. The kitchen focuses on local & seasonally sourced dishes, with an emphasis on fresh, interesting flavours whilst keeping an open mind to using global influences.

Job details

  • 40 hour working week – Promoting a wholesome work-life balance
  • Starting salary 33k – 36k per annum, negotiable depending on experience
  • 28 days holiday per annum (inc. bank holidays), overtime back in lieu
  • Exciting vegetarian small plate menu
  • Open kitchen in a social environment

Job responsibilities

  • Design menus & showcase new dishes
  • Creating vegan & vegetarian dishes, responsibly & seasonally produced
  • Drive the highest food hygiene standards, maintaining our 5-star rating
  • Control costs – Stock management, working towards zero wastage where possible.
  • Admin, planning, rotering to a budget & work well with our senior team (FOH & BOH) general manager and central team (such as marketing).
  • Team training and development, bringing creativity and hard work out of them.
  • Knowledgeable or interest of learning of planet wellbeing
  • Personable and level-headed in high-pressure environments
  • A love for the Bristol food scene
